Computer instructions for 9823
The supplied computer offers you the greatest level of training
convienience.
Every value relevant of your training can be viewed in the display window.
To switch the computer on, sit on your training equipment and push the
pedals once or twice. The computer switches on automatically and is
now ready to receive any values which you may wish to enter.
A. Key functions:
1. „+ / -" keys:
Using these two keys you can select the individual areas of the program
(+= towards program 1 und upwards // - = towards program 12 and
downwards). In the function area you can set the time. (+ = towards 5
minutes and upwards // - = towards 99 minutes an downwards). For the
purposes of programs 11 and 12, you can set the entry for age (+ =
towards 25 years and upwards // - + = towards 99 years and
downwards).
During your training session, you can use these keys to set the value for
the desired resistance . (+ =1 up to 8 // - = 8 down to 1).
By pressing the keys once the value changes step by step. If you to
enter a high value press and hold one of the keys.
This starts the rapid entry mode. Release the key to stop the entry.
2. E Key:
Press this key once to confirm entries you have made using the „+ and
-" keys in order to save them and to move into the next area of function
settings.
3. Start/Stop key:
Use this key to start and stop the training session. To do this, press the
key briefly.
All values which have been accumulated will be held in
memory. After a short training pause, press the „S" key to restart your
session with the values held in the computer. If you stop your training
session by pressing the „S" key, then after 5 minutes have elapsed the
computer shuts down automatically. Any values
achieved or which you entered into the computer are lost. When you
restart training all indicators will be reset to zero.
4. F key:
Use this key to select which double indicator function (UPM + KM/H or
CAL + WATT) should be displayed. This means, dependent upon the
settings of the F key, either KM/H and CAL or UPM and WATT are
displayed together.
B. Functions
When the computer is switched on, you can use the „+/-" keys to select
your training programm. The time that you enter is divided into ten time
segments. The time segments are symbo-lised by the horizontal bar in
the view window.
Later, the program that you select is split into the 10 time segments for
the changes in the grade of resistance (for instance: You enter a training
time o 10 minutes. The computer moves once every into the next step of
the program). If you do not enter a time, then each time segment lasts for
3 minutes. This means that each program is 30 minutes long.
1. TIME indicator
Without first entering a time into this function, the indicator begins at zero
an counts up in minutes an seconds. If you used the „+/-" keys to set
a time, then this time is counted backwards down to zero. When the
specified time is up, the computer makes you aware of this by emitting
a signal tone. (Highest possible entry for this indicator in 99,59 minutes).
If you have entered a time, press the E key once to confirm your entry.
2. Program:
A. Program 1:
Program 1 is a manual program. This means that the training res istance
stays constant and the training resembles cycling steadily rising distance.
You can use the „+/-" keys at any time to set a higher or lower resistance
level.
B. Programs 2 - 10:
Programs 2 to 10 are programs with set increases and decreases in the
training resistance. This means that the training resistance changes at
set times during the program and the training resembles changing
mountain and valley routes. Here also, the „+/-" keys can be used to set
a higher or lower grade of resistance.
C. Programs 11 and 12:
Programs 11 and 12 work according to the pulse. To use these programs
you must first enter you age. Using you age, the computer works out the
maximum pulse rate (=100%). For program 11, the computer sets a
maximum values which equals 60% of your maximum pulse rate. In
program 12, the computer sets a maximum value which equals 85% of
your maximum pulse rate. Based on these values, the computer
automatically controls the resistance level in such a manner that you
stay in the upper limits.
to C. Programs 11 and 12
For instance: if 60% of your maximum pulse rate is 165 beats per minute,
then the computer will regulate the resistance level so that your pulse
stays at 165 beats per minute. If you are well over or well under this level,
the computer will automatically reduce or increase the resistance to
bring you back to the area of 165 beats per minute.
These programs only function when the pulse measurement is gripped.
3. Double indicator KM/H an UPM
This indicator is a double indicator. During your training session you can
use the F key at any time to permanently change between the two values.
It should be noted that when changing between the two indicators, a
change also occurs between the double indicator „CAL and WATT".
A. KM/H indicator:
The actual speed is displayed in kilometres per hour. This value cannot
be influenced using the „+/-" keys. The last value attained cannot be
saved.
(The highest value for this indicator is 99,99 KM/H)
B. UPM indicator
The actual number of pedal revolutions per minute is displayed.
This value cannot be influenced using the „+/-" keys. The last value
attained cannot be saved.
(The highest value for this indicator is 199 RPM)
4. KM indicator
The actual distance travelled, beginning from zero, is displayed in
kilometres and metres. These values are held in the computer as
explained earlier in these instructions. These values cannot be influenced
by using the „+/-" keys. The highest value (for this indicator is 999,9
KM).
5. Double indicator CAL and WATT

were
This indicator is a double indicator. During your training session you can
use the F key at any time to permanently change between the two
indicators, a change between the two values. It should be noted that
when changing between the two indicators, a change also occurs between
the double indicator UPM and KM/H.
A. CAL indicator:
The amount of calories currently used is displayed. This value cannot be
influenced by using „+/-" keys. This value is held in the computer as
explained earlier in these instructions.
(The highest value for this indicator is 9999 calories)
B. WATT indicator:
Performance is displayed using WATT. This value cannot be
influenced by using the „+/-" keys. The last values attained are not
saved. ( The highest value for this indicator is 9999 calories)
