Possible Cause
Low salt level in pool water.
Cell requires cleaning.
Cell not working properly after cleaning.
DC power cord not properly connected to the
cell.
Flow/temp/salinity sensor not plugged in.
Water temperature too low.
All the above have been checked and
indicator light is still on.
Not enough salt added on start up.
Heavy rainfall.
Leak in pool.
Dirty flow/temp/salinity sensor contacts
or faulty flow sensor.
Presence of excess chloramines (combined
chlorine).
It has been six (6) months since present
cartridge was installed.
Combined algae and bacteria growth.
Improper water balance.
Incorrect pH causing metals to come out of
solution.
High total hardness.
ENGLISH
Corrective Action
Test salinity. Add salt as described in
Section 4.5.
Refer to Maintenance Procedure for acid
wash cleaning. See Section 6.4.
Contact a qualified service representative.
Check connection. Check for dirt or
corrosion around DC cord contacts at cell.
Check Cell studs for same.
Plug flow/temp/salinity sensor into
connector on power center printed circuit
board (Cycle Power).
Winterize your pool. See Section 6.6,
Winterizing.
Contact a qualified service representative.
Add salt to pool, 3.0 gpl to 3.5 gpl.
See Section 4.5.
Add salt to pool, 3.0 gpl to 3.5 gpl.
See Section 4.5.
Repair pool.
Remove and clean flow/temp/salinity
sensor contacts. Check flow/temp/salinity
sensor cable for damage. See Section
6.5. Verify salinity with Myron "L" meter
calibrated for NaCl, titration test units, or
other salt meters. Please be aware that
salt test strips have a large variance in
readings (400 - 800 ppm).
Manually shock the pool following the
directions in Section 5.4.1 Shocking.
Brush pool, manually shock, adjust pH,
replace cartridge. Run filtration system for
24 hours.
Brush down the affected walls and follow
the directions in Section 5.4.1 Shocking.
Balance the water to recommended levels
in Section 4.4.
Adjust total alkalinity to 100 - 120 ppm.
Then adjust pH to within the range 7.2 -
7.8. See Section 4.4.
Dilute pool with fresh water. Contact a
qualified service representative regarding
use of a sequestering agent.
