6 Putting into operation
6.3 Current clamp (optional)
If welding conditions are not favourable, a current clamp instead of an earth cable may be used. This is connected to the
FEC W3 via the 4-pole plug and routed above the earth cable and cable assembly as required. When the welding process
starts, the FEC W3 receives a signal and starts the extraction process.

1 Connect the current clamp plug to the current clamp socket (4).
2 Route the current clamp above the earth cable or the cable assembly.

NOTICE
• It is imperative that you ensure that the red dot on the current clamp is always pointing in the direction of the current
flow.
3 Press the A/Auto (1) button on the control panel.
The extraction process starts as soon as you start the welding process.
