5 Functional description
NOTICE
• Only use the FEC W3 extraction system in sufficiently ventilated rooms.
• The extraction system is designed for operation only with the ABICOR BINZEL fume extraction torch and
ABICOR BINZEL funnel-shaped nozzle.
• The extraction system is equipped with a clogged filter indicator for monitoring the minimum volume flow.

Harmful fumes are produced during the welding process. The FEC W3 is equipped with an extraction system (9). Due to the
negative pressure generated by the extraction system, air is drawn in by the hose connected to the inlet nozzle (2). A
permanent filter (8) located in the filter housing (1) removes the welding fume particles from the absorbed air. The cleaned
air is led back via the exhaust vent on the back side of the device.
When cleaning the W3 filter cartridge (8), the particles are collected in the filter housing (1) and can be emptied into a dust
collecting bag and then disposed of.
The fume extraction system is equipped with an automatic starting function, which means the system can start automatically.
An earth cable is inserted into the integrated start and stop system (6) for this function. The automatic starting function is
switched on and off on the control panel.
