SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFIC TO BAND SAW
Read these instructions carefully and completely before first starting up the machine. Failure to comply with the safety and operating
instructions may give rise to serious injury. Before each use, check that the machine is in good condition. Do not put the machine into service
before becoming familiar with all its functions.
Make sure that you can switch off the machine as fast as possible in the event of danger. The operating instructions form an integral part of
this tool.
Always disconnect your machine before any repair or maintenance work, including changing the blade.
1. WARNING! Do not use the saw before it is assembled and installed according to the enclosed instructions.
2. IF YOU ARE NOT fully familiar with the use of band saws, obtain advice from a specialist or another competent person.
3. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES PROTECTED.
4. NEVER start the band saw before clearing the table of all objects (tools, offcuts, etc.).
5. NEVER start the band saw while the workpiece is placed against the blade.
6. ADJUST the upper fence as closely as possible to the top of the workpiece.
7. ENSURE that the blade is correctly tightened and positioned.
8. ALWAYS keep hands and fingers away from the blade.
9. CHECK that the size and type of blade are appropriate for the task required.
10. DO NOT try to saw a workpiece with an uneven surface without the appropriate support.
11. HOLD the workpiece firmly against the table and move it forward at a moderate speed.
12. STOP the machine if you wish to move a workpiece back before it has been completely cut through.
13. MAKE relief cuts before tackling longer curves.
14. DO NOT remove jammed offcuts while the blade is still running.
15. STOP the saw before clearing the table of debris.
16. NEVER draw out cutting lines, assemble or prepare a task on the saw table when the saw is running.
17. ALWAYS hold the workpiece firmly against the table.
18. AVOID awkward positions where your hands risk coming into contact with the blade.
19. DO NOT cut pieces which are too small to be held safely.
20. MAKE SURE that the blade is properly assembled and that the blade teeth are facing the table.
21. ALWAYS check that the blade tension is correctly adjusted and that the blade fences and the blade support bearing are correctly adjusted.
22. DISCONNECT the machine and clean the table and work area before leaving the machine.
23. IF any part of the band saw is missing, damaged or faulty in any way, or if any electrical part is not working correctly, stop and disconnect
the machine. Replace any missing, damaged or faulty parts before using the saw.
24. THE USE of accessories that are not recommended by PSP Outillage may lead to injuries.
25. PLEASE KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE. Refer to them frequently and use them to inform other users.
