B ASSEMBLING THE BLADE ADJUSTMENT WHEEL
Position the wheel (A) in the hole located on the top of the band saw as shown in Fig. 4. Screw it in.
C ASSEMBLING THE SAW TABLE
1. Tighten the limit stop screw (A) Fig. 5 to the saw frame so that the screw head comes into contact with the underside of the saw table.
Then tighten the nut (B).
2. Place the saw table over the saw blade and position it upon the table rack.
3. Fit the table on to the trunnion (C) and attach the table using the 4 bolts (D) provided and the open-ended spanner as in Fig. 6.
The saw table must be aligned in two planes:
1. Laterally, so that the saw blade runs at the centre of the table insert;
2. Horizontally, at right angles to the blade.
The cuts are perfectly perpendicular when the table surface is perpendicular to the blade. To adjust the table, proceed as follows:
Lateral adjustment of the saw table
• Unscrew the 4 fastening screws of the saw table support.
• Position the saw table so that the saw blade is in the centre of the table insert.
• Re-tighten the fastening screws.
Horizontal adjustment of the saw table
• Raise the upper blade guide fully (E) Fig. 1.
• Check the saw blade tension.
• Loosen the wing screw (A) Fig. 7.
• Using a square, position the saw table at a right angle to the blade and re-tighten the wing screw (A) Fig. 7.
• Unscrew the lock nut (B) Fig. 5 and turn the limit stop screw (A) until it touches the underside of the saw table.
• Once the table is perfectly straight, re-tighten the lock nut (B) Fig. 5 fully.
D ASSEMBLING THE FENCE RAIL
• Attach the fence rail to the saw table (I) Fig. 1 inserting the 4 hexagon head screws (E) Fig. 6 and the corresponding support washers into
the notches on the rail and into the holes located on the underside of the saw table Fig. 6.
• Tighten the hexagon head screws (E) securely so that the fence rail stays correctly in place.
E ASSEMBLING THE RIP FENCE
The rip fence (N) Fig. 1 may be fitted on the right or left of the blade.
This is locked instantly when the lever is tilted (A) Fig. 8. To unlock it again, raise the lever (A).
F ASSEMBLING THE MITRE FENCE
• The mitre fence (H) Fig. 1 supplied with the saw may be positioned on the right of the blade.
• To fit the mitre fence, slide it into the right slot then position the fence at the desired angle using the knob (B) Fig. 8 loosened beforehand.
• Choose the desired angle using the scale (C) and the indicator (D) Fig. 9.
• Lastly, lock the mitre fence by tightening the knob (B) Fig. 8.
G CONNECTING THE DUST EXTRACTOR
Some types of sawdust (such as oak, beech and ash) may cause cancer if inhaled: always use a dust extraction system when working in
enclosed spaces (the air speed in the saw's extraction ports must be 20 m/s).
IMPORTANT!
Operation without dust extraction is only possible:
- outside;
- for short operations (up to 30 minutes maximum);
- with a dust mask;
- When no dust extraction system is used, sawdust will accumulate and must be removed regularly.
Connect a sawdust extraction system or an industrial vacuum to the dust extraction port (A) Fig. 10 using a compatible adaptor.
DANGER !
