SEPTIC TANK COMPONENT
Effluent filter
According to regulation, any septic tank must be equipped with one (or two,
where applicable) BNQ certified effluent filter. The effluent filter holds those
solid particles larger than the filtration slots, thus preventing premature
2
clogging of the downstream treatment system. Various effluent filter models
are used in any given septic tank.
BIONEST® REACTOR COMPONENTS
Fine bubble air diffusers
Constant air supply ensures ideal conditions for the biological treatment
regardless of outdoor weather conditions. Aeration is provided by fine bubble
air diffusers which are connected to one or several small diaphragm air pumps.
Air pump
The air pump supplies oxygen to the treatment system and must remain
operating at all times. A slight humming sound is emitted when the pump
is functioning. In case of a malfunction, the alarm will go off (see the
troubleshooting section for details).
Energy consumption :
HP-80 model : 71 Watts; HP-100 model : 75 Watts; HP-200 model: 250 Watts
Pompe de recirculation
A recirculation pump is installed inside the BIONEST® reactor's last compartment
and returns part of the treated effluent back to the septic tank inlet. This
ensures several contacts between wastewaters and purifying bacteria, thus
improving the treatment performance level.
Energy consumption : 12 Watts
