3 Description of the appliance

4 Fitting

a
Danger!
Risk of carbon monoxide poisoning!
If air flow conditions in the chimney are per-
manently poor, flue gases may flow back
unchecked from the chimney into the installa-
tion room if the atmospheric sensing device is
not operating.
>
Under no circumstances should you switch
off the atmospheric sensing device (flue
gas sensor).
>
Never tamper with this device as this may
prevent it from operating correctly.
If the flue pipe is partially or completely blocked or the
air pressure conditions inside the building prevent suffi-
cient flue gas extraction, the flue gas sensor detects a
rise in temperature and stops the gas supply.

Requirements for the installation site

Please note the following instructions before choosing
where to install the heater:
– The gas instantaneous water heater may only be
installed in a sufficiently ventilated room.
– The wall must be strong enough to bear the weight of
the gas instantaneous water heater during operation.
– The fixings supplied might not meet the requirements
for the wall. In this case, you must obtain the neces-
sary fixings yourself.
– The entire installation site should be frost-proof.
Observe the specified frost protection measures if you
are unable to ensure this requirement.
(See Section 5.7 of the operating manual.)
– Choose an installation location where the pipes (gas
supply, water intake and water outlet) can be easily
laid.
– The use of gas fired instantaneous water heaters in
vehicles such as mobile homes or caravans is prohib-
ited. Units that are not classed as vehicles are those
that are installed in a fixed and permanent location.
b
Caution!
Risk of damage to the unit.
Aggressive vapours and grease vapours may
damage the unit.
>
Do not install the unit in rooms where
there are aggressive vapours or grease
vapours.
– The gas instantaneous water heater must be con-
nected via a pipe of the specified diameter (see sec-
tion 10, Technical data) to a flue system with a natural
draught (chimney).
i
It is not necessary to keep a clearance
between the appliance and combustible mate-
rials or components, since at the rated heat-
ing power of the appliance the temperature
at the surface of the housing is always lower
than the maximum allowed temperature of
85 °C.
>
Explain these requirements to the customer.
