■ Carry out work steps „Removing the material nozzle" and „Removing
the pre-nozzle, carbide needle tip and paint needle" (see Chap. 10.1).
■ Unscrew nozzle head nut [9-1] using SATA universal wrench.
■ Remove screw [9-3] from retaining plate [9-2].
■ Remove retaining plate and nozzle head [9-4].
■ Remove O-rings [9-5].
Attaching a new nozzle head
■ Clean sealing and contact surfaces [9-6].
■ Insert new O-rings [9-5].
■ Insert new nozzle head [9-4] in correct position and position retaining
plate [9-2].
■ Secure screw [9-3] into retaining plate .
■ Screw on nozzle head nut [9-1] using SATA universal wrench.
■ Carry out work steps „Attaching the new pre-nozzle, carbide nee-
dle tip and paint needle" and „Attaching a new material nozzle" (see
Chap. 10.1).
10.3. Replace air distribution ring
Perform all work steps described under "Replacing the nozzle head" be-
fore and after replacing air distribution ring (see Chap. 10.1).
Remove air distribution ring

Damage due to using the wrong tool
The air distribution ring is lodged tightly in the nozzle head. Use of too
much force can damage the nozzle head. Slipping with the SATA ex-
traction tool can lead to injury.
→ Wear work gloves.
→ Always use SATA extraction tool pointing away from your body.
→ Pull air distribution ring evenly out of nozzle head.
■ Carry out work steps „Removing the material nozzle" and „Removing
the pre-nozzle, carbide needle tip and paint needle" (see Chap. 10.1).
■ Pull out air distribution ring using SATA extraction tool [10-1].
■ Check sealing surfaces of nozzle head [10-2] for any damage or soiling
and, if necessary, clean or replace nozzle head assembly.
Install new air distribution ring
■ Insert new air distribution ring into nozzle head. Ensure that the lug at
the bottom of the air distribution ring is aligned properly [10-3].
