Intended use

The Arjo MaxiSlide Sheets, MaxiTubes, MaxiSlide Sheets Flites, and MaxiTube Flites are sliding aids with
ultra-low friction properties intended to support caregivers in transferring, moving and positioning in hospital
environments, nursing homes, home care settings including private homes, or other healthcare facilities.
The MaxiSlide Sheets Flites and MaxiTubes Flites are disposable and for single patient use only.
The sliding aids shall only be used by appropriately trained caregivers with adequate knowledge of the care
environment, its common practices and procedures, and according to instructions in the Instructions for Use
(IFU). Caregivers must consult their local safe patient/resident handling policy for agreed safe practices for use
of sliding aids. Sliding aids should never be used as lifting devices. Due to the low friction properties, it is not
recommended to leave sliding aids underneath the patient/resident.
Patient/Resident assessment
It is recommended that facilities establish regular assessment routines. A quali ed nurse or therapist shall
assess each patient/resident prior to using the sliding aids.
A proper assessment of the patient/resident should decide which sliding aid to use. Guidelines on the types
and sizes of the products and repositioning techniques are found in the IFU.
Installation requirements
Potential caregiver must read and understand the IFU before using the sliding aids.
Expected service life
The operational life of the sliding aids depends on the circumstances in which it is used. Before each use, the
products should be inspected for signs of wear, fraying, tearing and other damages. If any wear or damage is
observed, do not use the product.
MaxiSlide Sheets and MaxiTubes:
The expected service life of MaxiSlide Sheets and MaxiTubes is the maximum period of useful life.
The caregiver should make sure that MaxiSlide Sheets and MaxiTubes are cleaned according to "Cleaning
and Disinfection" section of the IFU, when it is soiled or stained and between patients.
MaxiSlide Sheets Flites, and MaxiTube Flites:
The expected service life of MaxiSlide Sheets Flites, and MaxiTube Flites is the maximum period of useful life
and/or end of using by one patient.
If the Flites sliding aids have been soiled, subjected to liquids, or washed, these must be discarded. Ensure
the green washing tag is intact and if dissolved, discard the sliding aid.
