5.4.- OPERATION MODE
The automatic control unit can operate in 4 different modes, which are:
• RESET
• MANUAL
• AUTOMATIC
• TEST
A button and LED signal is linked to each of these modes. To select the required mode, press the corresponding button. It is possible
to change from one mode to another at any time.
The different modes are as follows:
RESET (2 functions)
- One press of the "RESET" button causes the generating set to stop and no further action can take place. Even the external controls
(SCR/EJP/EJP.T mode) are inhibited.
- One press of the "RESET" button enables the alarms to be cleared, so long as the corresponding faults have been resolved. (see
alarms and error messages).
The battery charger operates as normal and it is possible to select and display the measurements using the "MEAS" button.
MANUAL
In manual mode, it is possible to start or stop the generating set by using the "START" and "STOP" buttons. The "START" button can
also be used to activate the starting cycle, controlled by the automatic control unit.
Likewise, the "STOP" button activates the stop cycle in all its phases (stop with cooling, petrol or diesel solenoid valve cut-out).
If there is a fault, the alarms are activated normally (see "ALARMS").
In manual mode, the grid/generating set and generating set/grid switches are not switched automatically, external intervention is
needed.
If, for example, the grid switch is closed, it can be opened or closed according to the grid voltage, but under no circumstances will the
generating set switch be activated; the "GEN" button on the control unit must be used to switch over. Similarly, if the generating set
switch is closed, the "MAINS" button must be pressed to switch to the grid.
When the generating set is in operation, pressing the "RESET" button will cause it to stop immediately.
AUTOMATIC
In automatic mode, the generating set starts after a lack of grid voltage is detected, with the grid switch open. If the generating set has
started and if the generating set voltage is between the 2 programmable thresholds, the generating set switch closes. The generating
set continues to operate until the grid returns, then the generating set switch opens and the generating set begins its stop cycle.
When running, the generating set can be stopped in an emergency using the "RESET" button; the "STOP" button is not used in
automatic mode.
In automatic mode the following are authorised:
- the remote start and stop control (SCR/EJP/EJP.T)
- execution of the automatic test.
AUTOMATIC TEST
If the test is authorised (TEST "ON") the automatic control unit starts the generating set at the time and day programmed. The engine
remains operational for the duration of the (programmable).
The test can be carried out with or without load (programmable); at the end of the test, the generating set stops.
If there is a mains supply failure during the test, the emergency switch closes and the generating set supplies the equipment.
When running, the generating set can be stopped in an emergency using the "RESET" button; the "STOP" button is not used in
automatic mode.
AUTOMATIC TEST ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION
To activate/deactivate the automatic test function, press the "TEST" button.
• One press on "TEST" held for 2 seconds will display: "OFF"
• In the same way, one press on "TEST" held for 2 seconds will display: "ON"
EJP FUNCTION (for France only)
With or without presence of mains voltage.
The "EJP" function can be activated via the parameter P5.02. When this is activated, the remote starting becomes the EJP command
and the stop command closes the generating set circuit breaker.
When there is an EJP command, the engine start time delay (programmable) is activated, after which the starting cycle begins. During
this time, "EJP" is displayed on the screen.
Then, when engine has started and the switch validation is given, the generating set switch closes.
When the EJP input is not present, the emergency switch opens and the generating set executes is stop cycle.
The "EJP" function is only to be used if the control unit is in automatic mode.
The alarms function normally.
the test is deactivated.
the test is activated.
