The standard settings that appear in the bottom row can be adapted directly from the
Main menu (see Chapter 3.2 und 3.3). Please note, however, that the type of prepara-
tion (Espresso, Cappuccino etc.) always remains as you have programmed it in
«Settings».
3.7 Brewing with pre-ground coffee
• Open the lid of the coffee powder shaft (16). «Fill in coffee powder» appears on the
display.
• Fill with one level measuring spoon (17) of coffee powder and close the lid again.
• The display shows «Powder is ready».
• Place a cup under the outlet (5).
• Turn the Control button (2) in the Main menu to the beverage of your choice.
• If necessary, adapt the «ml display» by going to the bottom row of the display by
pressing the > button (3). The «ml» display blinks.
• Turn the Control button (2) until the desired amount blinks.
• The setting is saved by pressing the Exit button (4).
• Press the Control button (2).
• The cup lighting switches on and the appliance prepares the desired coffee.
☛ If the preparation has been started too early or by mistake, the procedure can
either be cancelled with the Exit button (4), or some settings can be changed
during the procedure. The settings that can be changed are indicated by blinking.
☛ If you have opened the powder shaft by mistake or if the Control button was
not pressed after powder had been filled, the appliance will be automatically
rinsed via the coffee outlet (5) one minute after the lid is closed again, and is
then ready for operation.
Please note: The ground coffee shaft is not intended for storage. You should therefore
never fill more than one portion into the shaft, and only use fresh or vacuum-packed
coffee powder from ground beans. Soluble instant coffee must not be used.

3.8 Programming the standard settings

As soon as you turn the Control button (2) to the desired coffee preparation in the Main
menu, the factory settings appear in the bottom row. These can be adjusted directly
with the help of the > button (3) (see Chapter 3.2 – 3.7), or you can change them to
your taste in the «Coffee recipes» menu point in «Settings», so that they will always
immediately appear in that manner in the Main menu.
☛ We would recommend that you should try out some of the settings directly
from the Main menu with the help of the > button (3) (see Points 3.2 – 3.7)
before you change the settings according to your taste.
