04 | INSTALLATION
04.1 Installing the modelling light
CAUTION
Never touch the modelling light and the flash tube with bare hands. Greasy fingerprints may cause the bursting of the lamps
during operation! Wear thin gloves (special microfiber cloth available from DÖRR) or use a cloth for installing or replacing the
modelling light.
CAUTION
To avoid burns, cool down the studio flash before replacing the modelling light!
1.
Make sure to switch off the studio flash with the main switch (19) and to disconnect from main power supply.
2.
Insert the long plug-in contacts of the modelling light (20) into the 2 holes of the modelling light socket (09) and gently push the
modelling light down.
CAUTION
The modelling light is only designed to illuminate the object while the camera settings are made. It is not suited as a permanent
light since it produces high temperatures which can harm flash accessories. In combination e.g. with conical snoots, softboxes,
honeycombs or other flash accessories the modelling light must not be used for more than 10 minutes.
04.2 Mounting onto a light stand
Suitable light stands optionally available from DÖRR (doerr-foto.de/en-us/).
Put the tripod socket (06) over the spigot of your light stand and fix the locking screw (07). To adjust the tilt angle, loosen the locking
screw (05), adjust to the desired angle and tighten the locking screw afterwards.
CAUTION
Make sure that the studio flash is mounted stable and secure and cannot tip over. Risk of fire! Take care that that nobody
stumbles over the cable connections.

04.3 Power connection

CAUTION
Before connecting or removing the power connection, make sure the main switch (19) is on position O=Off.
Insert the supplied mains adapter (21) into the power plug socket (18) of your flash and connect to an electric outlet.
