Procedures
1 Check the capacity of the kingpin Page 14.
2 Determine the thicknesses of the trailer bolster plate and welding seam
Page 16.
3 Insert the kingpin flat and in the centre, thereby checking the angled
seat.
4 Weld the flange using a permitted welding procedure and a
corresponding weld material. Protect the pin against welding splatter.
Installation proposal for kingpin
• Align kingpin:
– concentric to the bore in the bolster plate
– Line of force –item 1– concentric between two mounting bolts
(22.5°) Fig. 8.
