PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS BEFORE USE

The SPOT LIFT is designed for car body shops for maintenance operations, controls and automotive repair. It
should only be used to lift vehicles which total weight does not exceed 2,5 tons. Also, it should not be used on
vehicles equipped with a panoramic roof, which could be damaged under the effect of stress when lifting.
In order to reduce the risk of physical damage, all the people who use, install, repair, or execute maintenance or
replacement of accessories, but also the people working in the vicinity of the tool, must read and understand all
the points of the following instructions :
Before the lifting operations :
• Read carefully this user manual before any use of the product.
• The SPOT LIFT must only be used by personnel over 18 years of age, duly trained and entitled to use the
product.
• The operator should always use protection clothes conforming to regulations, and apply all safety procedures
mandatory in working environments.
• The SPOT LIFT must only be used indoor, sheltered from rain, wind, or humidity.
• Never exceed the maximum acceptable load of the jack, which is 1500 Kg.
• The SPOT LIFT must never be used to lift people.
• Before lifting a vehicle, always ensure that its hand brake is efficient.
• The lifting must take place on a horizontal surface, without hollows, and able to allow lifting of the load in
question.
Failure to respect this rule may lead to danger of load overthrow, with risks of
• The lifting accessories mounted on the SPOT LIFT (fork, adapter for sill), must always be maintained clean,
such as to avoid slipping of the wheels or the sill of the vehicle on the dirt.
• When placing the SPOT LIFT in order to lift the wheel or the sill of a vehicle (with the adapted accessories),
the operator must ensure the accessories are correctly positioned.
• Before lifting any load, make sure the fork is stable, and the product rests correctly on the ground.
• Make sure nothing obstructs the lifting structure of the product (cloth, objects, etc...).
• Make sure no electrical cable lies in the way of the accessories or the structure of the product itself : the
lifting operations may damage the cables, possibly cutting these cables and enabling contact between the
electrical conductors inside the wires and the structure, causing immediate risk of electrical shock for the
operators.
During the lifting operations :
• Always keep an eye on the load in order to avoid bad positioning of the lift or the vehicle. To make some
correction, lower the load and position again the lift with respect to the vehicle.
• Once the vehicle is lifted, always introduce the safety axle inside the safety catch in order to withstand the
load correctly.
• The SPOT LIFT is a crick lift only; once the vehicle is lifted, it is compulsory to support the vehicle with
appropriate means (e.g. jacks stands).
• It is strictly forbidden to work under a vehicle which is lifted only with the SPOT LIFT.
• Never manipulate or unscrew any part of the lift in order to avoid risky dislocation of elements.
• Systematically lower the load to the ground at the end of the working day, in order not to leave the hydraulic
cylinder of the product under load, and in upwards position for a long period of time.
Failure to respect these recommendations may lead to important risks for the
operators. GYS may not be held responsible for any misuse of the product by the users
