Important information

Please read these Operating Instructions thoroughly. Persons who have not fully familiarised themselves
with these instructions and children should not attempt to use the appliance.
The appliance must only be used for its intended purpose. Any improper use is strictly forbidden and
carries inherent risks. The appliance can be used outside in a dry and sheltered place.
Please Note: Charcoal and similar fuels may not be used for this appliance.

Before putting into use

The appliance will emit fumes and an odor typical for electric heaters when used the first time; this will
no longer be noticeable after a few minutes. We recommend that you let the appliance heat up at
level 1 in a well-ventilated room for ten minutes before using it the first time. The fumes and odor
are completely normal and have no influence on the quality of the product. Before first use, the pan
should be wiped over with a damp cloth and before every use the griddle-plate and batter spreader
(Art. no. 0086.01G/02G) should be washed.

Putting into use

Appliance and operation
Connect the appliance to a power outlet.
The preheating time for crepes or baked potatoes is approximately 5 –10 minutes. For roasting sweet
chestnuts, the appliance must not be preheated.
The appliance becomes hot during operation, particularly around the lid handle. Do not touch hot
surfaces.

Hints & Tips
It is recommended that the cooked chestnuts be placed in an insulated container such as a bread
basket.
When using the griddle-plate it should first be very lightly coated with cooking oil or alternatively
a rasher of bacon first grilled. Avoid too much fat or oil, as there is a risk the fat may spit. The grilling
of fruit is not recommended as many fruit acids cause sticking.
Oiling is not necessary when using the plate for pancakes.
