Operation

Preparations for operation

Before using the instrument for the first time, insert a charged NiMH T4
power pack or batteries approved by Dräger see "Replacing the batteries /
rechargeable batteries" on Page 9.
The instrument is now ready for operation.
To reduce the risk of ignition of a flammable or explosive atmosphere, strictly
adhere to the following warning statements:
Only use power pack types ABT 01xx, HBT 00xx or HBT 01xx. See the marking
on the rechargeable battery for permitted rechargeable batteries and the
corresponding temperature class.
Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety.
Remove rubber boot only if the Dräger X-am 5600 is used in combination with
the accessory or if used in the Dräger X-zone 5000/5500 (AAC 00xx).
