- Position the vise arm according to the thickness and shape of the workpiece and secure the vise arm by
tightening the screw (22).
Make sure that no part of the machine contacts the clamp when lowering the handle fully and pulling or pushing the
carriage all the way. If some part contacts the clamp, re-position the clamp.
- Press the workpiece flat against the guide fence and the turn base. Position the workpiece at the desired cutting
position and secure it firmly by tightening the vise knob.
- Turning the vise knob counterclockwise allows the vise knob to be moved up and down, facilitating the quick
setting of workpiece. To secure the workpiece after setting, turn the vise knob clockwise.
CAUTION:
The workpiece must be secured firmly against the turn base and guide fence with the vertical clamp during all
operations. If the workpiece is not properly secured against the fence, the material may move during the cutting
operation causing possible damage to the blade, causing the material to be thrown and loss of control resulting in
serious personal injury.
6. Dust/Chips extraction (Fig 9)
CAUTION:
- Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some wood types, can be harmful to one's health.
Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or
bystanders.
- Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-
treatment additives (chromate, wood preservative).
- Materials containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
- Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace; dusts can easily ignite.
- Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
- It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
- Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be worked.
- Clean the sawdust port, especially if you cut wet wood: use a piece of wood or a blower. Perform this operation
only when the machine is stopped and disconnected from the mains! Never reach into the sawdust
collector!
- Fit the dust bag (8) to the dust extraction port.
- A vacuum dust extraction device can be connected to the dust extraction port. Use a suitable vacuum adaptor if
necessary: it must be suitable for the material being worked.
The dust extraction port has an external diameter of 41 mm.
CAUTION:
To prevent accidents, make sure to turn the switch off and disconnect to the plug from the power receptacle.
1. Mitre table settings (Fig 10 to 15)
The mitre saw cuts from 0° to 47° both left and right.
- To adjust the mitre angle loosen the mitre table lock (15), raise the mitre latch (14) and rotate the mitre table to
the desired position (Fig 10).
When turning the turning table, be sure to raise the mitre latch fully.
- The mitre table features positive click stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6° and 45° for quick setting of common mitre
angles.
CAUTION:
- After changing the miter angle, always secure the turning table by turning the miter lock (15) clockwise.
Checking the fence square with the blade:
Before making the first cuts, it is important to check the squareness of the blade with the fence (12).
- Push the saw arm down to its lowest position and engage the release knob (19) in position B to hold the saw arm
(Fig 3).
- Loosen the mitre locks (15) and lifting up the mitre latch (14).
- Rotate the table until the pointer (24) is positioned at 0°.
- Release mitre latch (14) and tighten the mitre locks (15).
- Place a square against the fence (12) and alongside the blade (Fig 11).
