• Before inserting the CompactFlash card, make sure it
is oriented correctly. Inserting the card in the wrong
direction may damage the internal contacts, which can
lead to malfunctions.
• To avoid losing image data or damaging the unit, never
attempt to insert any media into a CompactFlash
adapter set in the CompactFlash slot.
To remove the CompactFlash card
When a message prompts you to remove the
CompactFlash card, pull it straight out.

To avoid losing valuable data or damaging your media,
never remove it from the slot until the message prompts
you.
Using a SmartMedia
Card
To insert a SmartMedia card
When the unit is ready to read image data, a message
prompts you to insert your media.
With the terminals on the SmartMedia card facing down,
completely insert the card into the slot.
When you insert a SmartMedia card into the unit, it is
automatically detected.
To remove the SmartMedia card
When a message prompts you to remove the
SmartMedia card, pull it straight out.

Card
To insert an xD-Picture card

With the v mark on the xD-Picture card facing up and
forward, completely insert the card into the slot.
When you insert the xD-Picture card into the unit, it is
automatically detected.

When a message prompts you to remove the xD-Picture
card, pull it straight out.
