5. Miter cutting procedures
Miter Handle
NOTE:
* Positive stops are provided at the right and left of the 0° center setting, at 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and
45° settings.
Check that the miter angle scale and the tip of the indicator are properly aligned.
* Operation of the power tool with the miter angle scale and indicator out of alignment, or with
the miter handle not properly tightened, will result in poor cutting precision.

* Increased pressure on the handle will not increase the cutting speed.
On the contrary, too much pressure may result in overload of the motor and/or
decreased cutting efficiency.
* If the handle is pressed down with excessive or lateral force, the saw blade may
vibrate during the cutting operation and cause unwanted cutting marks on the
workpiece, thus reducing the quality of the cut. Accordingly, press the handle down
gently and carefully.
* Confirm that the trigger switch is turned OFF and the power plug has been removed
from the receptacle whenever the tool is not in use.

(1) The vise asse m bly can be m ounted on either the
left side base or the right side base, and can be
m oved back and forth according to the width of the
w orkpiece.
Insert support of vise asse m bly into the hole located
on either the left side base or the right side of the
base as sho w n in Fig. 20.
(1) As sho w n in Fig. 21 the width of the sa w blade is the
width of the cut. Therefore, slide the w orkpiece to the
rig ht (vie w e d fro m th e o p erator's p ositio n) w h e n
length b is desired, or to the left w hen length a is
desired.
(2) O nce the sa w blade reaches m axim u m speed, push
t h e h a n d l e d o w n c a r e f u ll y u n til t h e s a w b l a d e
approaches the w orkpiece.
(3) O nce the sa w blade contacts the w orkpiece, push the
handle do w n gradually to cut into the w orkpiece.
(4) After cutting the w orkpiece to the desired depth, turn
t h e p o w er t o o l O F F a n d l et t h e sa w b l a d e st o p
c o m p l e t e l y b e f o r e r a isi n g t h e h a n d l e fr o m t h e
w orkpiece to return it to the full retract position.
(1) Loosen the miter handle and push the spring plate.
(2) A djust th e ta ble u ntil th e in dicator alig ns w ith th e
desired setting on the miter angle scale as sho w n in
Fig. 22.
(3) Re-tighten the miter handle to secure the table in the
desired position.
