Residual risks
The machine has been built using modern technology
and in accordance with recognized safety rules.
Some hazards, however, may still remain.
• Risk of injury to fingers and hands from the tool in
operation during improper use.
• Electrical hazards when unsuitable electric con­
nections are used.
• Safety hazard from the hedge clippers in case of
long hair and loose clothing; Wear personal protec­
tive equipment such as a hair net and tight work
clothing.
• Although having regarded all considerable rules
there may still remain not obvious remaining haz­
ards.
• Minimize remaining hazards by following the in­
structions in "Safety Rules", "Use only as author­
ized" and in the entire operating manual.

7. Attachment and operation

ATTENTION! Before working on the device ­ clean­
ing, inspection, maintenance or other work - always
turn off the device and separate it from the power
supply.
ASSEMBLY
Assembling the motor casing (Fig. 2)
• Open the quick acting lock (11) from the motor cas­
ing (9).
• Insert the telescopic tube (6) into the casing's hold­
ing fixture.
• Close the casing's quick acting lock (11) again,
Attaching the shoulder strap (Fig. 3)
Assembly and use:
• Fix the shoulder strap on the flap (4)
• By changing the adjuster, the length of the shoul­
der strap can be altered. Adjust the length of the
shoulder strap in such a way that it ensures a com­
fortable working posture.
• Put the shoulder strap over your right shoulder.
• Carry the tool's motor on the right side of your
body.
Never put the shoulder strap over your shoulder
and across your chest, but put it on one shoul-
der. In this way, you will be able to quickly re-
move the tool from your body in case of emer-
gency.
m Warning! Use only original manufacturer's re­
placement parts, accessories and attachments. Fail­
ure to do so can cause poor performance, possible
injury and may void your warranty. Never use the
machine without the guard assembled!
Starting and stopping the telescopic hedge trim-
mer (Fig. 4)
• Starting the device: First, press the safety switch
(3) on the back handle left, then the trigger (2). Af­
ter starting the motor, you can release the safety
switch (3).
