Installing the Invacare Matrx Elite Headrest Adapter Plate
Headrest adapter plates are shipped with all Elite back models ranging from 13 inch (33cm) to
24 inch (61cm) wide.
Headrest adapter plates are available as an option for 12 inch (31cm) wide Elite backs.
The following instructions apply to installing a headrest adapter plate on any size Elite back.
1.
Release the hook and loop fasteners and remove the outer back cover.
2.
Align the headrest adapter plate with the four mounting holes in the center of the Elite back.
3.
Using the four truss screws, two spacers (large Elite HD backs only) and four locknuts, secure the
headrest adapter plate to the Elite back. Securely tighten.
4.
Reinstall the outer cover.

Lumbar Support (Optional)
The Lumbar Support is a pre-fabricated foam insert that provides lower back support for
additional comfort. The position of the lumbar insert can be adjusted inside the Elite back cover,
or it may be removed if no lumbar support is desired.
Lumbar Support Adjustment
1.
To access the Lumbar Support, open the hook and loop fastening strips on the outer cover at the
bottom rear of the back pan.
2.
The foam lumbar support/insert is installed inside the Elite back cover between the foam back
cushion and the back pan (see image B).
3.
The lumbar support can be adjusted manually to any desired height/position.
4.
Refasten the cover onto the back pan.
