Service & maintenance information
Service and maintenance of a medical device is wholly the responsibility of the owner of that device.
Failure to service and maintain a device in accordance with the instructions may invalidate the
device's warranty. Furthermore, failure to service and maintain a device may compromise the clinical
condition or safety of users and/or their caregivers. Do not perform service and maintenance while the
user is in the device. Contact the local dealer for assistance, if needed, in setting up, using or how to
perform service and maintenance of the device.
Lifetime
The lifetime of this device in normal use
is 8 years if all maintenance and servicing
is carried out in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and demonstrably
recorded.
Reuse
This device and its accessories/components
are suitable for reuse.
Refurbishment for reuse
Before reuse or changing the user, follow the
service checklist, maintenance and washing
instructions and carry out regular inspections.
Service interval
The frequency of inspection may be
altered depending upon use and wear. It is
recommended that the device is inspected
yearly, every time the device is re-issued for
use and after a long-term storage (more than
4 months). The inspection should be carried
out by a person who understands the use of
the device.
Service checklist
According to their intended use, check:
• that the nuts and bolts on the product are
tightened
• the product for cracks or signs of worn
out parts
• that all labels on the product are intact
• that all accessories, attachments and
functions on the product are intact
• the adjustment options for the foot rest
and that it is possible to lock the angle and
fasten the telescopic tubes in position
• that the seat back is adjustable and can
be locked in position
• that the seat plane is adjustable and stays
in position after adjustment
• that the frame is adjustable in height
• that the powered versions are able to
retain power after charging the battery
and adjust if necessary.
Repair or replace any damaged or worn out
parts.
Maintenance
Before every use it is recommended to:
Wipe off any residue and dirt from the device,
using a cloth with warm water and a mild
detergent/soap without chlorine and let it dry
before use.

Carry out a visual inspection, for any damaged
or worn-out parts.
Washing
Main device
This device can be washed at 60°C using a
mild detergent for 10 minutes in a washing
machine designed for medical devices. Use
the machine's drying function to dry the
device. Unmount all accessories and wash
them separately.
Tilt/rotate the device after washing to facilitate
water drainage from within the device.
Before washing
Avoid degreasing of the piston rods, the
actuators should be retracted to minimum
stroke.
• Remove all accessories, unplug all cables
and make sure to dismount the power unit.
• Do NOT clean the power unit with a high
pressure cleaner or steam cleaner.
After washing
• Ensure correct installation of the power
unit.
• Check that the handset functionalities
works correctly
Fabric and covers
The cushion covers can be washed at 60°C
using a mild detergent in a washing machine.
For the remaining fabric and covers, check
each item's care label for specific instructions.
Separate foam and cover before wash.
Foam
The following foam inserts can be washed
at 40°C using a mild detergent in a washing
machine:
• Seat cushion foam inserts
• Back cushion foam inserts
During and after washing the foam, do not
bend, squeeze or wring it, as it may negatively
affect the shape.
It is not recommended to wash other foam
parts.
Handwash
This device and its accessories can also be
washed by hand. Use warm water and a mild
detergent/ soap without chlorine and let all
parts dry before use.
Disinfection
The device can be disinfected with a 70%
