Intended purpose
The JuzoPro Palmar Xtec Digitus, made of inelastic
materials with adjustable, removable reinforcing ele-
ments, immobilises the wrist and fingers (phalanges)
up to the distal interphalangeal joints.
How to put on the product correctly:
1. Open all touch fasteners on the top and pull the
straps through the eyes up to the hook part (do not
open them completely!). Now slide your hand into
the orthosis. The thumb must be guided through
the dedicated opening.
2. First, close the lower wide touch fastener.
3. Then close the upper strap at the back of the hand
and finally, the strap to secure the fingers in fixed
extension.
4. Correct fit of the orthosis is guaranteed if it firmly
encloses your wrist. Please make sure the straps
do not constrict and do not exert excessive
(painful) pressure on the wrist. The orthosis can be
readjusted at any time by repeating steps 2 and 3
at any time.
5. The large stabilisation stay can be removed, and
also reinserted, through an opening at the front.
Before removal, the touch fastener (an additional
touch fastener is supplied with the product as a
spare part) must first be removed, and fastened
again after the stay has been inserted.
6. The two small stabilisation stays can be removed,
and also reinserted, via the small opening on the
underside
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier.
The orthosis can only be fully effective when it has
been put on correctly and is being worn in accordance
with treatment recommendations. The orthosis is
largely resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and
other environmental influences. The durability of the
material may be affected by certain combinations
of the above. We therefore recommend that it gets
examined regularly by the medical products supplier.
Should the product become damaged, please consult
your specialist supplier. Do not repair the orthosis
yourself – this could compromise its quality and
medical efficacy. For hygienic reasons, the orthosis
is not suitable for treating more than one patient. The
information on the inside of the product is important
for its identification and traceability. We therefore
ask you not to remove the information under any
circumstances.
Washing and care instructions
Please observe the care instructions on the inside
of the product. Before washing, please remove the
stabilisation stays as described in Fig. 5 and 6. Wash
the orthosis separately the first time (possibility of
bleeding). Handwash the orthosis and straps with
laundry detergent for delicate fabrics every day or
between uses at approx. 30 °C. We recommend using
the mild Juzo Special Detergent for this. Afterwards,
please rinse it out well and allow it to dry at room
tempera ture. To reduce the drying time, you can place
the orthosis on a thick terry towel and pat it dry. Do
not leave it in the towel and do not place it on a heat er
or in the sun to dry. Please re-insert the stabilisation
rods into the pockets only when the orthosis material
has dried completely. This Juzo product must not be
cleaned chemically.
Material composition
For full details, please refer to the label on the inside
of the product.
Storage information and usage duration
Store in a dry place and protect from sunlight. The
medical retailer or doctor prescribing the orthosis will
advise on exactly how long it can be used for.
Notes for specialist staff
Please note the applicable official regulations relating
to the issue and adjustment of orthoses by authorised
specialist staff.
