Some models in the Roxxter series are fitted with a
streaming camera. This gives the user a quick glimpse
into their home whilst out of the house. Video data is
sent from the robot vacuum to the user's Home Con-
nect app via the BSH streaming service.
The transmission quality depends on the speed of your
Internet connection at home and your mobile device.
Streaming can only be started when the robot is ac-
tively moving. It can take a few seconds to load the vi-
deo stream.
To limit data consumption and save battery capacity,
you should stop streaming in the Home Connect app
when you are not watching it.
Streaming will stop automatically after around 7 minu-
tes to preserve the Roxxter's battery life and limit data
consumption. Streaming also stops automatically if the
the robot stays still for longer than 15 seconds. You can
always start streaming again if you need to.
Video data is not saved; it is simply made available to
the user as a stream. The video stream is encrypted.
The stream is optimised (e.g. in terms of resolution,
frame rate, etc.) for the user by the streaming service
architecture. If paired with multiple apps, the stream
will be made available to all users. Both the app and the
appliance indicate when the camera stream is currently
active.
Once this is the case, a short signal sounds at regular
intervals to attract the attention of any persons pre-
sent. The "Wireless network" button also flashes.
Please note that, with indoor use, only the primary
user receives high transmission quality (full HD); all
others users will see the stream in compressed format
(WVGA).
