UTILISATION
BEFORE ST ART UP
It is essential to ensure that sea-water is reaching the
sea waterpump normally. Consequently never start the
engine with the sea-cock shut, nor when the boat is out
of the water.
Check that :
a) The sea-cock is open
b) The fuel supply tap is open
c) The engine and gear oil levels are correct (see 11 Mdi
ntenance 11 section) .
d) The fuel oil system is correctly bled (see 1 1 Maintenan
ce1 1 sect ion)
e) The battery switches are on
f) The reverse gear control is in neutral

By working sw itch
on the control panel, it is possi
ble to cut out the alternator. When thus switched off, the
alternator does not deliver any current and the battery
charge light stays on
The full output of the engine can
•
then be used for propulsion purposes(manoeuvering in
harbour etc. ) . The engine reaches its full running speed
more easely after starting, even if the battery is fairly
flat. Under weight, it is important to switch the alterna
tor on again to recharge the battery; the battery charge
light then goes out.

ELECTRIC START
The checks before starting having been carried out:
- work contact switch. Current is then reaching the ins
trumrnts and the battery charge: light comes on
- put the throttle lever in midway position to free the stop
lever
