CONNECTING TO THE ELECTRICAL MAINS. Before
connecting or disconnecting the machine to or from
the mains, make sure that the switch is in the OFF
"O" position (switched off). If there is a power cut
while using the machine, turn the switch to OFF "O"
(switched off) to prevent it from starting suddenly.
ONLY CONNECT THE MACHINE TO AN EARTHED
POWER SUPPLY. The electrical power line and any
extension cables must be fitted with an earthing
system; this is the only way of ensuring the elec-
trical safety of the machine. Ask your electrician.
DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE POWER CABLE. Do not
tamper with the power cable. Do not replace the
plug on the power cable; in presence of the earth
line, do not use adapters to connect to the power
socket.
CHECK THE POWER CABLE. The power cable and
the extension cable (if any) should be checked reg-
ularly and before each use to see if they show signs
of damage or wear. If they are not in good condition
disconnect the cable immediately and do not use
the machine but have it repaired at an authorised
service centre.
KEEP THE POWER CABLE IN A SAFE POSITION.
Keep the power cable and the extension cable (if
any) away from the operating area and from the
machine, from surfaces that are damp, wet, oily,
with sharp edges, from sources of heat, fuels and
from vehicular and pedestrian transit areas.
DO NOT STAND ON OR CRUSH THE POWER CABLE.
Never stand on the power cable. Be aware of its
position at all times.
DO NOT USE THE MACHINE IN PRESENCE OF
LIQUIDS. Do not wet the machine with liquids or
expose it to damp environments. Do not leave it
outdoors.
USE AN EXTENSION CABLE THAT IS SUITABLE FOR
THE MACHINE. Only use an extension cable that
is suitable for the power of the machine used and
sized according to its length, approved and with an
earth line. Ask your electrician.
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE MACHINE BY GRIPPING
THE PLUG. Always remove the plug from the sock-
et by gripping the plug without pulling the power
cable.
AVOID CONTACT OF THE BODY WITH EARTHED
SURFACES. Avoid contact of the body with earthed
surfaces, such as refrigerators, radiators, pipes and
metal door and window frames, etc.
2.7 Electric warnings during installation
Before connecting the machine to the electrical
system check that the voltage and amperage and
the safety systems of the line met the specific
requirements of the product.

WARNING! If an earth wire is required,
ensure that the machine is properly con-
nected to the electrical system's earth wire.
This is of the utmost importance for the
safety of the operator.
Machines without an earth line feature double
insulated electrical components. Double insu-
lated components are identified by the following
symbol:
All machines that do not have double insulated
electrical systems are normally provided with
the Schuko type electrical plug (Figure 14) for
connection to the electrical network.
The plug in Figure 14 must not be directly insert-
ed into the socket type shown in Figure 15 as the
machine's earth system would not be connected
to the building's earth system.
The type of adaptor shown in Figure 16 must
always be used or the plug inserted into a wall
socket of the type shown in Figure 17 (in synthe-
sis, refer to Figure 18).
Always check the integrity of the power cable
and, if damaged, have it replaced by qualified
personnel.
If an extension chord is used, ensure that it has a
cross-section large enough to support the power
of the machine and that it has plugs and sockets
that are compatible with those of the machine
(see Figg. 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18). If the ex-
tension chord is on a winder, unwind the chord
completely before use to prevent overheating.
