Cause

Remedy
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery compartment.
► Insert the battery.
► Switch on the lawn mower.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the lawn mower and instead consult
a STIHL authorized dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the lawn mower to cool down.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the lawn mower.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the battery and instead consult a
STIHL authorized dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery compartment.
► Insert the battery.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the lawn mower.
► Allow the lawn mower or battery to dry,

► Fully charge the battery as described in
the User Manual for STIHL AL 101, 301,
500 and 501 chargers.
► Replace battery.
