Maintenance
2. Unfasten the protective caps, the cover of the suit valves (if
fitted) and valve discs of the suit valves.
3. Remove the gloves if necessary:
If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a glove
combination, the glove combination must be removed
and disposed.
If Tricotril overgloves were used, remove them but do
not wash them. Contaminated Tricotril overgloves must
be replaced.
If K-MEX Gigant overgloves were used, remove them
and clean separately.
Remove FKM/Butyl gloves.
WARNING
!
There is the risk of contamination if the glove
combination is not replaced!
No assurance has been made that the material will be
able to withstand repeated chemical exposure.
4. Clean the valve discs separately with clean, warm water
and then disinfect.
5. Open the fastener system on the chemical protective suit
completely.
6. Spread out the chemical protective suit on a clean working
surface and smooth out wrinkles.
7. Place the supporting disc in the hood, ensure that the visor
is flush to and congruent with the supporting disc.
8. Pull the washbag over the hood and ensure that the
washbag foam rests on the visor and the corded edge of
the washbag covers the lower edge of the visor. Tighten
and tie the cord.
9. Turn up the socks or protective boots once. Avoid sharp
bends.
10. Place the sleeves into the centre of the chest section.
Smooth out any creases.
11. Fold the hood with the washbag and the upper section of
the chemical protective suit to ensure that the visor lies on
the rolled-up safety boots. Smooth out any creases. Make
sure that the visor does not get deformed.
12. Place the chemical protective suit into the industrial
washing machine.
13. Start the washing program "Chemical protective suit".
CAUTION
!
Risk of damaging the material!
To avoid damaging the chemical protective suit, the
wash drum must only move when filled with water.
Observe the following parameters during washing:
Water temperature for cleaning and disinfecting:
62 °C ±2 °C
4 rinse cycles with clear, cold water
14. Dry all parts (see Chap. 6.3.3 on Page 28).

6.3.3
Drying the chemical protective suit
CAUTION
!
Risk of damaging the material!
To avoid the chemical protective suit being damaged,
it must not be spin-dried.
To avoid mould formation, for example, the chemical
protective suit must be completely dry.
1. Before drying, tip out any remaining liquid from the
chemical protective suit or wipe with a sponge.
2. Dry all parts thoroughly inside and outside.
The chemical protective suit can be blow-dried using dry,
oil-free compressed air or in a protective suit dryer system:
– Temperature: maximum 40 °C
– Time: min. 120 minutes
Avoid direct heat radiation or direct sunlight.
NOTICE
i
i
Suitable drying systems for the chemical protective
suit include:
TopTrock SF01 with GF fan
Drying systems of an equivalent design
3. Reinsert the backpack pad (if fitted).
4. Carry out a visual inspection of chemical protective suit,
visor, safety boots and gloves.
5. Reinsert the antifog visor (if fitted).
6. Refit the ventilation unit and D-connect (if fitted).

Maintaining the fastener system

1. Lubricate the fastener system thoroughly after every use
and every cleaning and disinfection process. Use the
grease stick available from Dräger to do this.
2. In particular, lubricate the chain links on the zip fastener
and the area below the chain links on which the zip is
running.
NOTICE
i
i
To prevent the closure system sticking, protruding
textile threads must be removed.
6.5
Examining tightness of the chemical
protective suit
The test is described for the test device Porta Control 3000.
You can carry out the tests with other test devices, but the
indicated values must be observed.
Carry out the test according to ISO 17491-1, method A.2 at
constant room temperature (20 °C±5 °C).
The compressed air used must comply with the requirements
of EN 12021.
The required test accessories are listed in the order list (see
