WARNING: Removal of the front
wheel may be necessary to access
filter cartridge. Be sure to properly
support the vehicle prior to jacking
and removing the wheel.
FILTER ELEMENT
REPLACEMENT
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Remove fasteners from left side of splash
shield and front fasteners from left side
inner fender liner to access the filter box.
STEP 2:
Pull down splash shield and pull fender liner
rearward to access air filter housing.
STEP 3:
Remove the two wing nuts.
STEP 4:
Pull filter cartridge from the air box.
STEP 5:
Remove snap-in filter retainer.
STEP 6:
Remove old filter.
STEP 7:
Filter retainer,
grooved side up
Filter element
Insert new filter element (Fram CA7098,
STP SA7098, K&N 33-2113, Purolator
A14649, Auto Extra 619-46107, Wix 46107 or
equivalent) oriented as shown.

STEP 8:
Air flow arrows point toward
engine intake and match arrow
direction on filter box
Snap filter retainer into place to secure new
filter element.
STEP 9:
Replace filter cartridge into the air box
housing with arrows pointing toward the
engine intake.
STEP 10:
Tighten wing nut retainers by hand only.
Excessive tightening may crack the plastic
housing.
STEP 11:
Apply enclosed label in a conspicuous
location in the engine bay. Check air filter
every 10,000 miles.
STEP 12:
Reinstall fender liner.
