The surfaces of furniture may possibly contain elements which can attack and soften
the adjustable feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable pad below the adjust-
able feet.
There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects
to your health, clean the device thoroughly before you fi rst use it (see the "Cleaning
and Care" chapter).
1. Fully unwind the mains cable and plug it into the mains cable socket (4) on the device.
2. Set up the device in a suitable location, following the safety instructions and the notes
provided at the beginning of this chapter.
3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed socket that is easily accessible.
4. Before you fi rst enjoy tea or hot instant beverages, we recommend that you carry out
a trial run to remove any possible production residues. To do this, follow the instruc-
tions in the "Operation" and "Preparation" chapters.
When the device is fi rst used, production-related additives (e.g. grease) may
cause a small amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal
and not a device defect.
5. Perform this process twice. Caution! Do not drink this water!
6. Clean the device and accessories (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).

Operation

Control Lamp
The control lamp (9) lights up red while the heating element of the device is heating
the water.
The integrated thermostat regulates the supply of power in the device as required.
This means the device switches off the heating element once the water has boiled.
The control lamp lights up green.
As soon as the temperature of the water drops, the thermostat switches on again.
The control lamp lights up red again.
Inserting the Drip Tray
The device is supplied with a drip tray (7) as the discharge tap (10) might continue to drip
after the water has been removed.
1. Place the drip tray in the recess that is provided for it on the front of the device.
2. Place the cover (8) on the drip tray.
Filling the Water Reservoir
Only ever fi ll the water reservoir (3) with fresh, clear tap water. Do not pour in any
other liquids.
1. Grab the lid by the lid handle and lift it off.
2. Pour the desired quantity of water (maximum 2.5 litres) into the water reservoir. Note
the Max marking on the fi ll-level indicator (12).
PLEASE NOTE! When you do this, do not immerse the base (6) of the device in
water!
