3. Put the lid back on.
If the water reservoir needs to be topped up, allow the device to cool down fi rst
and if necessary use oven gloves or something similar as the lid handle might
also be hot.
Operating the Discharge Tap
1. Turn the lever (11) to the right or left. The discharge tap (10) opens and water fl ows
out.
Note: Do not pull the discharge tap upwards or press it downwards. The lever could
break.
2. Move the lever back to the middle position once the desired quantity of water has
been removed. The discharge tap closes again.

Preparation

PLEASE NOTE!
Do not operate the device without water. If this does happen, the heating element of
the device switches off automatically (protection against running dry). In this case,
allow the device to cool down for around 5 – 10 minutes before water is poured in and
the device is used again.
1. Pour water into the water reservoir (3) (see the "Operation" chapter | "Filling the Wa-
ter Reservoir").
2. Insert the drip tray (7) and its cover (8) (see the "Operation" chapter | "Inserting the
Drip Tray").
3. Press the On / Off switch (5) to switch on the device. The control lamp (9) lights up
red. The water heats up until it boils. As soon as it has boiled, the thermostat switches
off (see the "Operation" chapter | "Control Lamp"). The control lamp lights up green.
4. Remove water via the discharge tap (10) (see the "Operation" chapter | "Operating
the Discharge Tap").
5. If the device is no longer to be used, press the On / Off switch again to switch it off.
The control lamp goes out.
6. Remove the mains plug from the socket.
7. Completely empty and clean the device at regular intervals (see the "Cleaning and
Care" chapter).
