3.2 Feature description
The Panorama Nova Dive is a full face mask for diving
applications. The base is a mask body made of EPDM
elastomer with a double sealing frame which seals the
full face mask onto the face of the diver. The adjustable
head harness is attached to the mask body such that all
five straps can be rotated individually. The individual
straps are each guided through an adjuster buckle. The
adjuster buckles allow the length of each individual
strap to be adjusted. The adjuster buckles must be
unlocked to remove the full face mask from the head.
Both side adjuster buckles have a quick-release handle
so that the buckles can be unlocked more quickly and
easily. This allows the two side adjuster buckles each to
be unlocked with a handle. If an underwater
communication unit is being used, earphone pockets
can be fitted to the straps of the head harness. The full
face mask has a visor which is secured in the sealing
groove of the mask body with a visor frame. On the
Panorama Nova Dive, the visor frame is made of metal
and on the Panorama Nova Dive NM, the visor frame is
made of plastic.
The visor has two rotatable nose pieces installed, which
the diver can use for pressure equalisation by closing
off the nostrils.
On the right-hand side of the visor in the Panorama
Nova Dive is a plug-in connector in which the display
unit of a mechanical residual pressure alarm can be
inserted.
In the mask body, there is one plug-in connector on
each side. These plug-in connectors, just like the
central plug-in connector in the mask, can be used to
connect breathing systems or a microphone unit to the
full face mask.
The plug-in connectors which are not used can be
sealed with dummy plugs.
The mask connection contains the main face piece, the
blow-off valve which is covered with the protective cap,
and on the inside of the full face mask, the holder for
the inner mask as well as a movable pivoted grommet
on which a bite mouthpiece can be fitted. For use with
open breathing systems an inner mask is usually used,
while the full face mask with rebreathers is equipped
with a bite mouthpiece (and without an inner mask). For
this purpose, the Panorama Nova Dive and Panorama
Nova Dive Sport full face masks are supplied with an
inner mask fitted, while the Panorama Nova Dive NM
and Panorama Nova Dive R full face masks are
delivered with a bite mouthpiece fitted.
For the inner mask, the breathing gas flow is directed
through the control valves so that no oscillating
breathing with CO
enrichment occurs within the full
2
face mask.
All full face masks are supplied with a stable transport
box.
3.3 Intended use
The Panorama Nova Dive is a full face mask for diving
applications up to a depth of 50 m. It can be used in
combination with rebreathers, as well as with diving
regulators that have an appropriate push-in connector
connection and for which, together with the full face
mask, the prototype has been tested for CE conformity.
– The full face mask is a facepiece in accordance with
EN 250 or EN 14 143.
– Up to three breathing systems can be connected to
the Panorama Nova Dive at one time, or two
breathing systems and one microphone unit for
underwater communication equipment.
– The Panorama Nova Dive NM is an antimagnetic
version whose basic configuration is intended for
use with military rebreathers.
– The Panorama Nova Dive R is identical to the
Panorama Nova Dive NM, but is magnetic. It is
designed for use with civilian rebreathers.
– The Panorama Nova Dive Sport is identical to the
Panorama Nova Dive, but has no connection for the
mechanical residual pressure alarm in the visor.
