1. Functional description

Magnetic operated float switches for lateral mounting operate
GB
according to the principle of the communicating vessel. This
reference vessel (4) contains a magnet-operated float switch. This
basically consists of a slip pipe (5) with a mounted float (6). There
are one or more reed contacts in this slip pipe. These have been
adjusted to the value of the preset switching points stated in the
order. The switching points cannot be adjusted. The float changes
its height proportionally to the level of the medium. The magnetic
field of the permanent magnet built into the float activates the
reed contact on reaching the switching point. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2
shows the principle structure.

2. Area of application

The Magnetic operated float switches are used exclusively for control-
ling the level of liquid media. All the materials of the reference vessel
and the float switch must be resistant to the medium being monitored.
The media to be monitored may not be heavily contaminated and
should not have a tendency to crystallize. The maximum values speci-
fied in the technical data may not be exceeded.

3. Assembly

Install magnetic operated float switches for lateral mounting
according to their model of process connection (4) (flange, Ermeto
screw union, welded union or thread).
A suitable gasket must be fitted for sealing if necessary.
It is not necessary to remove the float switch from the reference
vessel for assembly.
