This manual will show you how to use your charger safely and effectively. Please read, understand and follow these instructions and precautions carefully, as this manual contains important safety and operating instructions.

    TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BATTERY EXPLOSION, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND THOSE PUBLISHED BY THE BATTERY MANU- FACTURER AND THE MANUFACTURER OF ANY EQUIPMENT YOU INTEND TO USE IN THE VICINITY OF THE BATTERY. REVIEW THE CAUTIONARY MARKINGS ON THESE PRODUCTS AND ON THE ENGINE.

    Clean the battery terminals before charging the battery. During cleaning, keep airborne corrosion from coming into contact with your eyes, nose and mouth. Use baking soda and water to neutralize battery acid and help eliminate airborne corrosion. Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Add distilled water to each cell until the battery acid reaches the level specified by the battery manufacturer.

  • Page 8: Follow These Steps When Battery Is Outside Vehicle

    Check the polarity of the battery posts. The POSITIVE (POS, P, +) battery post usually has a larger diameter then the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) post. Determine which post of the battery is grounded (connected) to the chas- sis. If the negative post is grounded to the chassis (as in most vehicles), see step 6.5.

    15 amps of current. We recommend that you either install a 20 amp circuit or do not run anything else on the same circuit as the INC-800A or you may trip the breaker supplying the AC power. DANGER – Never alter AC cord or plug provided – if it does not fit the outlet, have proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

    NOTE: The INC-800A intermittently draws more than 15 amps of current. We recommend that you either install a 20 amp circuit or do not run any- thing else on the same circuit as the INC-800A or you may trip the breaker supplying the AC power.

    11.9 If you are using the FULL (240 minute charge) mode, the Charge Remain- ing timer counts down to 0 minutes, or the battery becomes fully charged, the charge cycle will be complete. The CHARGED (green) LED will light, the charger will beep four times and the charger will go into Maintain Mode.

    12.3 Servicing does not require opening unit, as there are no user-serviceable parts. STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS 13.1 Store charger unplugged, in an upright position. Cord will still conduct electricity until it is unplugged from outlet. 13.2 Store inside in a dry, cool place (unless you’re using an on-board Marine Charger ).
