8.16 AUX mode (external playback device)

You can use the AUX mode to connect, for example, a smartphone or MP3 player to the kitchen radio
and use it as a playback device. Your playback device must have an audio output (3.5 mm jack
connector).
 Switch the kitchen radio off.
 Adjust the volume of your playback device to the lowest setting.
Connect the audio cable [B] supplied to the AUX connector [2] and to the audio output of your
playback device. Please consult the technical documentation that came with your playback device.
Switch the kitchen radio on by briefly pressing the VOLUME button [14].
 If the kitchen radio is not in AUX mode, press and hold the VOLUME button [14] for about 2 seconds
until "AUX" [30] is shown on the display [1].
 Now start music playback from the source device. You have to control playback from your playback
device.
 Adjust the volume using the volume adjustment on the playback device or using the VOLUME knob
[14] of the kitchen radio. The currently volume level set on the kitchen radio is shown on the display
[1].
 Switch the kitchen radio off before disconnecting the audio cable [B].

8.17 Manual settings

The menu allows you to configure further settings. When switched off, press and hold the
for approx. 2 seconds to enter the menu. Turn the TIMER [5] control clockwise or anticlockwise to
navigate the menu. Press the

are automatically saved. Proceed as follows to change the settings:
 When switched off, press and hold the
 "24H" (24 hour time format, default setting) or "12H" (12 hour time format) flashes on the display [1].
 Turn the TIMER control [5] to switch between "24H" (24 hour time format) or "12H" (12 hour time
format). Press the
button [7] to confirm your selection.
If you select the 12 hour format, the display [1] shows "PM" [40] before the time in the
afternoon.
 The hour display flashes and you can now turn the TIMER control [5] to set the hour for the clock.
Press the
button [7] briefly to apply the setting.
 The minutes display flashes and you can now turn the TIMER control [5] to set the minutes for the
clock. Press the
button [7] briefly to apply the setting.
 The year display flashes and you can now turn the TIMER control [5] to set the year of the date. Press
the
button [7] briefly to apply the setting.
 The months display flashes and you can now turn the TIMER control [5] to set the months of the date.
Press the
button [7] briefly to apply the setting.
