7 Cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation

For care of the material, please do not fail to comply with the following important points:
•
Carry out cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation after each treatment!
•
Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents !
•
Always autoclave packed material in transparent bag!
•
Sterilisation packaging may only be filled up to 80%!
•
Autoclave material up to maximum 134° C!
•
Should the sterilised material not be used immediately, it should be labelled on
the packaging with sterilisation indicator and sterilisation date!

7.1 Control unit and footpedal

The patient should not come into contact with the control unit and the footpedal:
Use only external wipe disinfection with microbiologically tested surface disinfectants or 80% ethylic
alcohol. The front plate of the control unit is washable and sealed accordingly.

7.2 Electronic motor 31ESS

•
Do not bend motor cable, this may lead to possible cable rupture!
•
Do not clean electronic motor with compressed air!
•
Autoclaving without transparent bag may damage the electronic motor!
•
Let the electronic motor cool down after autoclaving!
1) Clean motor with cable and plug, getting rid of residues. For this, use damp cloth with cleaning or
disinfection agents for wiping.
2) Spray motor with „Nou-Clean" - Spray for 1s (For operation, see spray labelling!).
3) Pack motor in sterile goods individual packaging (see DIN 58953).
4) Autoclave packed motor incl. cable at maximum 134° C .
When autoclaving without vacuum, a drying phase must occur. Let motor dry in the bag for at least an
hour at room temperature, with the paper side towards the top.
7.3 Hose set no. 6024 / 1708
One-way hose sets 6024 and 1708 cannot be sterilised!

7.4 Three-way cock and Y connector

To avoid crystallisation of the sodium chloride solution, the three-way cock and
the Y connector should be rinsed with distilled water after use!
1) Rinse three-way cock and Y connector with connected contra angle with distilled water for approx.
20 s.
2) Remove hoses from three way cock and Y connector.
3) Pack three way cock and Y connector into a plastic bag and sterilise at maximum 134° C in
autoclave.
