Protecting the "GX 107" via a PIN Code
Changing the PIN Code:
You can efficiently protect your "GX107" from unauthorized access by setting an individual PIN
code for your SIM card, which must then be attached to every SMS command. You can change
the PIN code of the SIM card with the following SMS command:
SET PIN <new PIN> #<old PIN>
Example: Change old PIN 1513 to new PIN 1234:
SET PIN 1234 #1513
With each new SMS command, you now have to attach the new PIN code with a prefixed hash
(blank in front of the hash). If a wrong PIN code is entered or if you forget to attach the PIN code,
you will not receive any SMS response.
Example:
SET OUT1 #1234
Changing the PIN code changes both the "GX107" settings and the PIN code
of the SIM card! The PIN code always consists of 4 numbers.
If you loose or forget your PIN code, you can reset the "GX107" (see chapter
"Reset to Default Settings").
Your programming will be lost when resetting! Afterwards, you have to
reprogram the "GX107" as described in the chapter "Programming (Setup)".
Resetting the "GX107" to default settings does not affect the SIM card. Its PIN
remains the same.
