ASTM F2043 Category 5 – The functional range of bicycles and parts of this category, in addition to those spe
cified in categories 1, 2, 3 and 4, can also be used for extreme jumps and downhills in rough terrain at speeds
above 40 km/h.
The functional ranges are also colloquially called gravity, freeride, North shore, slopestyle and downhill. In
these functional ranges, it is essential to ensure that the attachments are checked for possible damage after
each trip.
Bear in mind that this is a dangerous extreme sport, which can lead to unexpectedly high and unforeseen material stress, even with
very good cycling skills and track knowledge. In extreme cases, this leads to overloading and component failure of the bicycle and
its parts, in particular the handlebars. The mentioned functional range is very risky. You must expect unavoidable falls, injuries and
paralysis or even death.
