Troubleshooting guide

• Depending on the model, your washing machine has several automatic safety features.
Thanks to these features, the system can detect problems in time and trigger the appropriate
safety measures. In many cases, these problems are so minor that they can be resolved in
a matter of minutes.
The washing machine does not start and none of the indicator lights are on. Check that:
• The electrical outlets are plugged into the wall outlet and the power is "ON".
• The wall outlet is working properly (use a bedside lamp or similar device to test it).
The washing machine does not start... and the "Start/Pause" indicator light is flashing.
Check that:
• The door is properly closed (child safety).
• The "Start/Pause" button has been activated.
• The "Water tap closed" indicator lights up. Open the water tap and press the "Start/Pause"
button.
The appliance stops during the cycle (depends on the model). Check that:
• The "Tank full" indicator lights up. Deactivate this option by pressing the "Start/Pause"
button or by selecting and starting the "Drain" program.
• Another program has been selected and the "Start/Pause" indicator light flashes. Reselect
the program of your choice, then press the "Start/Pause" button.
• The door has been opened and the "Start/Pause" indicator light flashes. Close the door and
press the "Start/Pause" button again.
• Check that there is not too much foam inside. Otherwise, start the anti-foaming program.
The appliance will operate in automatic mode after a pause.
• The appliance's safety system has been activated (go to the "Error description table" section).
At the end of the wash cycle, some washing product residue remains inside the dispenser
drawer. Check that:
• The fabric softener compartment grille and the main wash compartment separator are
correctly fitted in the dispenser drawer and all the parts are clean (see "Care and maintenance"
section).
• There is enough water getting inside the appliance. The screen filters in the water supply
system may be blocked (see the Care and maintenance section);

Useful information
• The position of the separator in the main wash compartment is suitable for the use of
washing liquid or powder (see Washing Product section).
The machine vibrates during the spin cycle. Check that:
• The washing machine is correctly levelled and is resting correctly on its four feet;
• The transit bolts have been removed. Before using the machine, the transit bolts must be
removed.
The final spin is not producing satisfactory results.
• The washing machine is fitted with a system for detecting and adjusting unbalances.
If heavy clothing (e.g. : bathrobes) is placed in the washing machine, the system is able to
automatically adjust the spin speed or even stop a spin cycle, that has begun, if it detects an
unbalance that is too high. This is to protect the appliance.
• If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, remove some items and restart the
spin cycle.
• Excessive foam can prevent the spin cycle. Use a suitable amount of detergent.
• Check that the Spin mode speed selector has not been set to "0".
If the washing machine has a time display: the duration of the program initially displayed
is increased/decreased by time intervals:
This is normal and allows the machine to automatically adjust the duration of the program
depending on various factors e.g. :
• Excessive foam;
• Load unbalances due to the presence of heavy items;
• Longer heating times due to the low temperature of the inlet water.
In view of these factors, the remaining duration of the program is recalculated and adjusted
as necessary. What's more, during the filling phase, the washing machine works out the load
level and, if necessary, adjusts the initially displayed program duration accordingly. During
these updates, an animation scrolls across the duration display.
