Maintenance

The KEYPLUS keyboard does not require special maintenance operations.
We recommend placing it on a solid base, with the power cords and the connecting cables positioned such as they are
not likely to hamper the operator.
Before performing any cleaning operations, make sure that unit is switched off. At regular intervals clean the
keyboard with a dry cotton cloth avoiding the use of detergent or wet clothes.

Resolving installation problems

Although the KEYPLUS keyboard is characterized by a great ease of use, sometimes troubles may occur, especially
during the installation and configuration phases or using the unit.
Problem
The unit is on but the display does not show
any writing, LEDs do not blink
The connection with the matrix does not work

Keyboard/matrix connection test

The keyboard transmits contemporarily in RS232 and Current Loop: during the test phase, control if possible error
messages refer to the RS232 mode or the Current Loop mode.
In order to identify the causes of
recommend proceeding with the following tests:
• communication test exclusively on the KEYPLUS keyboard (autotest)
• test of the direct connection between the keyboard and the matrix
• test of the sections of the connecting cable
Autotest of the KEYPLUS keyboard
• isolate the keyboard from the system
• connect the telephone cable and the Rj jack box fitted with jumpers according to the connections described in
chapter Keyboard configuration, Communication test at page 13.
• Carry out the automatic test according to the procedure described at page 13.
If the test is unsuccessful (the message Failed Test is displayed on the screen!):
• control the jumpers on the Rj jack box
• replace the telephone cable.
Repeat the test: if the problem persists, the transmission/reception channel of the keyboard is probably damaged.
Please contact the supplier.
If the autotest confirms the good functioning of the keyboard (message Successfull test), control the other telephone
cable, replacing it with the one previously used.
