Brief description of the press device
EN
7.1 Automatic press cycle (Fig. 1)
The press device features positive control. During pressing, the press device remains in the position
reached, even if start button (1) is temporarily released. When the intended switch-off force is
achieved, it is perceptible by means of an increase in the motor speed and a discernible decrease in
pressure. After releasing start button (1), the device returns to its initial position. For safety reasons,
the positive control is only activated after a minimum force has been attained. Until this force is
achieved, the pressing process can be interrupted at any time by releasing the button. The device
then automatically returns to its initial position.
7.2 Release button (Fig. 1)
In the event of an emergency, release start button (1) immediately. During pressing, the press device
remains in its current position. By pressing and holding release button (2), the piston in the press
device returns to its initial position.
7.3 Rotatable head
The press tool is equipped with a rotatable crimping head. The head is rotatable by 270°. Within the
range of these 270° the crimping head can be moved into any position. It is only possible to adjust the
crimping head before the pressing operation. The crimping head cannot be rotated while the pressing
operation is being performed.

Commissioning and operation
8.1 Preparing the EFP203
CAUTION!
Fingers risk being crushed if the device is operated without a press
jaw/adaptor jaw (Fig. 2)
If no press jaw/adaptor jaw is fitted, fingers could be placed in the at-risk zone. Fingers
could be crushed when the device is started.
Therefore:
Do not operate the device without the press jaws.
Keep your fingers away from the at-risk zone.
CAUTION!
Not locking the retaining pin (8) fully can cause damage to the device.
(Fig. 3 to 5).
If the retaining pin (8) is not fully inserted and locked, the cylinder can break during the
pressing operation.
Therefore:
Press in retaining pin (8) as far as it will go and turn 180° to the rear.
Information!
The press device is not suitable for continuous operation. Following 30 minutes
of continuous operation, a short break of at least 15 minutes must be taken to
allow the device to cool down.
Insert and lock the press jaw/adaptor jaw in the press device as shown in
Figs. 3 to 5.
