6 COMMISSIONING
6.1 FIRST START-UP
IMPORTANT: first start-up operations
must be performed by a specialised
and authorised technician.
- Open the steam supply by turning the knob by 90°
anti-clockwise.
- Power on the machine by setting the main switch
on the machine to ON (1). As a result, LED 1 will
light up.
- When the boiler is empty, the boiler filling phase
will start, during which LEDs 3, 2 and 1 will light
up in succession. At the end of the process only
LED 1 will remain on.
- Once the filling phase is over, the boiler heating
phase will be enabled. For the CUBE V version the
temperature is set via potentiometer, for the CUBE
R version the temperature is set via display.
If automatic filling does not take
place within 180 seconds, the
machine stops and all the LEDs on
the panel flash.
Turn the machine off and on again
to complete the water intake.

- Wait until air mixed with water comes out of
the steam dispenser, then close the steam tap
previously opened.
- Wait until the set temperature is reached (in
normal conditions the boiler reaches the setpoint
in 10-15 minutes). The default temperature is
120°C (about 1 bar indicated by the pressure
gauge (K)) and check on the pressure gauge (J)
that the mains water supply pressure does not
exceed 4 bar (only for the CUBE R version).
- IMPORTANT: The boiler can deliver steam and hot
water in 10-15 minutes, but the coffee unit takes
about 30 minutes when it is switched on from
completely cold. The lighting of LED 2 helps the
user to understand when this operating condition
is reached.
- Dispense water from the unit for about 20 seconds
by moving the unit lever to the dispensing position,
without having mounted the filter holder, checking
that the water comes out correctly by discharging
any air bubbles in the circuit. To stop dispensing,
move the unit lever back to its original position.
- Place a jug of water and insert the spout in the
tap. Open the steam tap by turning anticlockwise
and try to heat water up for approximately 30
seconds.
- Fit the filter holder in the unit, place some cups
underneath, and make some dispensing. Check
that the water is dispensed correctly in the cup.
During dispensing, check that the pump pressure
indicated by the pressure gauge is as indicated in
table section 3.
IMPORTANT: during dispensing,
check that the pump pressure is
between 8 and 9 bar (about 12
bar for the CUBE V version with
vibration pump). If pressure is
not within this range, it must be
adjusted. Call the Technical Service
for the adjustment.
