Safety information

Please read the user manual carefully before using the device for the first time.
Always check parts to ensure they are mounted correctly and functional. It is particularly important
to check the proper function of the brakes, the firm fit of the knee pad and to ensure wheels can spin freely.
To complete the initial test run, look for a large, smooth area where you can practice undisturbed. Test the NH1 to
find out how it behaves on curves and while braking. You should only drive the NH1 in public areas once you feel
confident.
Never drive parallel or at a right angle to small steps (such as lowered curbs) or ruts. When doing so,
there is a significant danger that both front wheels could become blocked abruptly, causing a crash. We
recommend approaching such uneven areas at a 45 ° angle if possible.
Avoid collisions of any kind. The consequences of a collision could permanently impact the proper
function of the NH1.
In rare cases, especially if you are sweating heavily, you may experience skin irritation if you come into direct skin
contact with the knee pad area.
Therefore, we recommend that you wear clothing as a barrier in this area (such as long trousers/socks, stockings,
etc.). However, if you do experience unexpected reactions, please contact your physician.
Observe the maximum permitted load weight of 150 kg (driver weight + load).
Do not allow the NH1 to be exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time; this will cause the colours to
bleach out more quickly, and metal components and the knee pad will also heat up quickly and may burn skin. Also
use caution when storing the NH1 in the boot of a vehicle that is parked in the sun.
Avoid contact with open flames or burning cigarettes.
Ensure that the maximum load of 4 kg in the storage compartment is not exceeded. Do not load the storage com-
partment with any sharp objects and/or hazardous goods.
In addition, transporting living beings (such as small animals) is strictly prohibited.
Observe traffic regulations (StVO) when driving on public traffic thoroughfares. The NH1 is equipped with reflec-
tors at the front and rear for your safety. Also wear light-coloured, reflective clothing so as to be seen more easily
in street traffic.
If you are recovering from an injury, adjust your speed to the circumstances accordingly. If you have recently had
a foot operation, your foot must be stably positioned and protected against environmental influences of all kinds
(impacts, vibrations, wetness, etc.). Please drive carefully!
Adjust the NH1 to your height. Short individuals should ensure their feet do not touch the tires when wearing
splints.
Only drive the NH1 on flat surfaces. A steep gradient may cause the NH1 to speed up unexpectedly and result in
hasty and uncontrolled manoeuvres. When parking the NH1, always lock the holding brake.
The following tilt angles may not be exceeded, to prevent the NH1 from tipping over:
-
Forward tilt around the lateral axis > 20°
-
Backwards tilt around the lateral axis > 20°
-
Side tilt around the longitudinal axis, left and right each > 13°
If you have problems using the machine or questions on treatment in relation to your ORTHOSCOOT
