Cleaning and disinfection

Clean the NH1 at regular intervals. Complete cleaning and disinfection along with technical service before each
change in users.
Cleaning
Do not use aggressive, caustic or corrosive cleaning agents. Do not use steam jets, hard and/or abrasive brushes
or sponges.
The transportation bag can be removed for cleaning. To do so, release the hook and loop closures on the top and
bottom of the frame. Clean the transportation bag by hand-washing it in warm water, using a mild detergent. After
drying the transportation bag, you can re-attach it to the frame. Start with the top hook and loop closure, followed
by the bottom one. The NH1 can be turned on its side for easier handling.
Disinfection
Disinfect the NH1 according to medical instructions. Special attention is to be paid to all components that come
into contact with parts of the body (handles and knee pads). Also disinfect all other components extensively (stee-
ring assembly, exterior shell and frame).
For disinfecting we refer to commercial products (VAH/RKI listed); products must be without chloride additives!

How does wear become visible, and how should it be handled?

The NH1 is designed for long-term use, and for being used by multiple patients.
Although we have worked to select components with easy maintenance while developing the NH1, some com-
ponents are subject to wear and tear over time. Depending on the intensity of use, these components should be
checked at regular intervals and replaced by ORTHOSCOOT

Tires
Tires are subject to natural wear through abrasion.
The characteristics of driving surfaces, the driver's
weight, and the length of use are all factors that can
influence tire wear to different degrees.
While the front wheels are subject to somewhat less
wear than the rear wheel, heavy braking action on the
rear wheel may increase wear. We recommend repla-
cing the tires once the worn area is more than 30 mm
wide.
In addition, replace the tire if there are major cracks
visible on the tread.
