Safety information

Before using the device for the first time, please carefully read the user manual.
Please check the function and the correct attachment of the parts before every ride. In this regard, the function of
the brakes, the tight fit of the knee pad and the free run of the wheels are particularly important.
Choose a large smooth road for your first test drive where you can practice without being disturbed. Experience
how the ORTHOSCOOT
acts in curves and during braking. You should only use it in public if you feel secure.
®
TIP: Never approach smaller steps (e.g. lowered curbsides) or ruts parallel or at a right angle as the risk is high that
you block both front wheels abruptly and consequently cause falls! We recommend approaching such irregulari-
ties at an angle of 45°, if possible.
Avoid collisions of any kind! The consequences may adversely affect the proper function of your ORTHOSCOOT
.
®
Please keep in mind the permissible maximum payload of 120 kg (weight of user + additional load).
Never leave the ORTHOSCOOT
exposed to direct sunlight - on the one hand, the colors fade more quickly; on
®
the other hand, metal parts and the knee pad heat up quickly and consequently may possibly result in burns to the
skin. Furthermore, please be careful if the ORTHOSCOOT
has been stored in the trunk of a car which has been
®
parked in the sun.
Avoid any contact with an open flame or cigarette glow.
Please ensure that the maximum load of the storage space of 4 kg is not exceeded. Do not load the storage space
with sharp objects and / or dangerous goods of any kind.
Furthermore, it is strictly prohibited to transport living beings (e.g. small animals).
On the road, the road traffic regulation (Straßenverkehrsordnung, StVO) must be observed. The NH1 is equipped
with reflectors at the front and rear for your safety. Please also wear light-colored clothes which reflect well in
order to improve visibility on the road.
If you are in a phase of regeneration due to an injury, please adjust your speed according to the circumstances.
If you just had a foot operation, you necessarily have to place your foot in a resting position and protect it against
environmental influences of any kind (impacts, vibrations, wetness, etc.). Drive carefully!
Adjust the ORTHOSCOOT
to your height. In particular smaller persons who wear a splint should ensure that the
®
tip of their toes does not touch the wheel.
Only move the ORTHOSCOOT
on flat surfaces. Steep declivity may result in unwanted high speeds and as a con-
®
sequence in hasty and uncontrolled maneuvers. Please ensure that the locking knob of the brake is always fixed
when you park your ORTHOSCOOT
.
®
To prevent the ORTHOSCOOT
from overturning, the following angles of inclination must not be exceeded:
®
- Forward tilt along the lateral axis > 20°
- Backward tilt along the lateral axis > 20°
- Lateral tilt along the longitudinal axis, both left and right > 13°
