With beds of which the side railings exceed the indicated
measure by less than 10%, such side railings must not be
used with small or underweight patients, or else additional
measures must be taken to avoid such patients from getting
clamped or sliding through.
Side railings that exceed the indicated values by 10% or
more, may until such time as the shortages have been
solved, not be used anymore and must be exchanged or
upgraded.
In addition to the following points, the full functionality (i.e.
locking, fixing elements) of the side railings must be checked.
Any defects must be eliminated. Observing the sizes of the
side railing components in accordance with the following
sketch.
