PROBLEM
Pump not delivering oil,
cylinder does not
advance.
Pump handle operates
with "spongy" action.
Cylinder extends only
partially.
Pipe rolls out of groove
rolls.
Pipe end flares or forms
bell shape when groov-
ing.
CAUSE
Pump release valve open.
Low oil in reservoir.
Dirt in pump body.
Seats worn or not seating.
Too much oil in reservoir.
Air trapped in system.
Too much oil in reservoir.
Pump reservoir is low on oil.
Depth adjustment set incorrectly.
Pipe angle to machine is incorrect.
Operator is advancing grooving rolls too fast.
Pipe not level.

CORRECTION
Close release valve.
Check oil level per instructions.
Have serviced by qualified technician.
Have serviced by qualified technician.
Check oil level per instructions.
Remove 920 from power drive. Position ram lower
than pump by tipping the machine on its side
opposite the operator. Extend and return the cylin-
der piston several times to permit air to return to
the pump reservoir.
Check oil level per instructions.
Fill and bleed system.
Follow depth adjustment instructions.
Refer to proper pipe level and angle setting instruc-
tions.
Slow down pumping action. Refer to proper operat-
ing instructions.
Adjust stand to level pipe with groover.
