12 • Cleaning and maintenance
Make sure that the ventilation system is disconnected before performing maintenance works by
removing the cord from the wall socket or by disconnecting the fuse.
Measure if this is truly the case.
The fan is fitted with low maintenance bearings and can function for a long time without any
problems. The fan must be cleaned every two years.
Take the following steps:
• Disconnect the power supply cable or remove the fuse from the equipment to disable the
current. Then remove the cover plate of the fan unit by removing the central screw with a
screwdriver.
• Disconnect the XVKS sensors connected to the control print board from the motor print board.
• Afterwards, the motor plate can be removed from the fan unit casing by loosening the 4
clamping clips with a flat-head screwdriver. Do not touch the electronics on the inside!
• Clean the fan by blowing it clean using a compressor/compressed air (Preferably do this
outside). In no case clean the motor unit with water and certainly do not submerge it in water
or any other cleaning agent.
• The fan cochlea can be cleaned with a wet cloth.
• Dry the cochlea with a dry cloth
• Reassemble the motor unit
• Reconnect the XVKS sensors.
• Only then reconnect the power cord (after visual inspection of the unit).
• Replace the unit's cover plate
• The system will restart automatically.
The supply louvres in the windows also need to be cleaned annually by means of a brush or
vacuum cleaner.
The extraction grilles in the Cube system must also be cleaned every trimester with hot water
and soap.
