Function and application

The rotary gripper unit HGDS−... is a combina
tion of semi−rotary drive and gripper. Alternat
ing the pressure supply between the ports on
the swivel component causes a vane in the
housing to swivel back and forth. This swivel
motion is then transferred to the gripper
which swivels as a whole. Adjustable stop
cams serve to restrict the swivel angle with
adjustable fixed stops with integrated
cushioning provided for precision adjustment.
The speed of the swivel component is regu
lated by means of external one−way flow con
trol valves (exhaust port flow control valves).
Alternating the pressure supply between the
ports on the gripper operating cylinder causes
an internal piston rod to move back and forth.
A mechanical system of toggle levers then
transfers the longitudinal motion of the piston
rod to the gripper.
The recommended application of the HGDS−... is the gripping and swivelling of
loads.
